Finger endurance is one of the traits that separates advanced climbers from novice climbers. Your ability to stay on the rock is in large part due to how long your fingers can support your weight while fighting off gravity’s pull. Increasing finger endurance, however, must be done with care and gradual progression. The small ligaments and tendons in the fingers can easily be damaged from too much strain. Accordingly, do not do specific finger exercises more than twice a week.
